Egyptian poet Ahmad Al-Shahawi holds a degree from the College of Journalism at the Faculty of Arts, Assiut University, and has been working in the press field since He started with the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram and then became editorin-chief of the weekly magazine Nesf El-Donya. He has many published works and is known for the influence of the Sufi approach on him, giving his poetry a certain dimension and authenticity that came to characterize his output. His career in the press field also has influenced his writing, which he admitted made him a “stern hard-hitting poet.”

When his soul left his body and this world, he left a house for poetry, a place for his things, and walls where the poetry he loved would remain. The Bahraini poet Ibrahim Al Arrayed, and all those who (followed) him in his literary journey and translated works, were retained by the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research in his city which he belonged, Manama. For it was the house of fame, as the first among the homes of cultural centers outside the city of Muharraq.
